Report: Ed Reed agrees to deal with Texans

By Jamison Hensley

Free-agent safety Ed Reed has agreed to terms with the Houston Texans, ending his 11-year career with the Baltimore Ravens, according to multiple reports. Reed becomes the seventh starter from the Ravens' Super Bowl team to leave this offseason.

Reed, 34, visited Houston last week but left without a deal. He had been deciding between going to the Texans or returning to the Ravens all week.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh was "very hopeful" that Reed would come back to the Super Bowl champions, and owner Steve Bisciotti had a gut feeling that Reed would come back as well.

Reed is a nine-time Pro Bowl player who was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2004.

The Ravens will turn their attention to Raiders free-agent safety Michael Huff, who is scheduled to visit Baltimore this week.

I will have more reaction on this news shortly.
