Ravens trade up for LB Arthur Brown
By Jamison Hensley
The Baltimore Ravens were aggressive in getting the inside linebacker they coveted, moving up in the second round to get Kansas State's Arthur Brown.
The Ravens traded their three picks -- ones in the second (62nd overall), fifth (165th) and sixth rounds (199th) -- to inch up six spots. Brown is expected to compete for a starting job inside and could jeopardize the roster spot for Rolando McClain, who was arrested last weekend.
From Stats Inc. on Brown: Massive frame with long arms to keep OL off his pads (when hands are used properly). Impressive straight-line closing burst to track quarterbacks down from behind. Exceptional value on special teams because of his kick blocking skills. Those skills will translate to the NFL.
This is the last pick of the second round for the division. I will wrap up the third round at the end of the night after I file my column.
