Jacoby Jones passes conditioning test

By Jamison Hensley

The first disconcerting news coming from the defending Super Bowl champions' training camp is no longer news. Baltimore Ravens wide receiver-returner Jacoby Jones has passed his conditioning test just three days after failing it, according to The Baltimore Sun. That means he's been taken off the non-football injury list and will participate in the Ravens' first full-team practice of training camp.

Truth be told, Jones has never been known for his conditioning. According to sources within my household, Jones didn't look to be in great shape during his stint on "Dancing With The Stars" and was breathing heavily after three minutes of the Paso Doble.

While coach John Harbaugh wasn't critical of Jones for failing the conditioning test, it had to irritate the Ravens. They're hoping that he can step up and be the team's No. 2 wide receiver. Instead of working out leading up to training camp, Jones was apparently "traveling," according to Harbaugh.

But, in the big picture, Jones passed the test in enough time that he won't miss any significant time in camp. If he has a strong preseason and solidifies the No. 2 wide receiver job, all of the concern over him failing a running drill will be forgotten.
