Injury report: Ray Rice is officially doubtful

By Jamison Hensley

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice's streak of 43 straight starts, which is currently the longest among NFL running backs, will likely come to an end Sunday against the Houston Texans.

Rice is officially listed as doubtful, which gives him a 25 percent chance of playing. He sustained a hip flexor strain in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 14-6 win against the Cleveland Browns and didn't return.

Although he didn't receive and MRI, Rice didn't practice all week. He's played in every game since becoming the Ravens' featured back at the start of the 2010 season.

Backup running back Bernard Pierce is expected to make his first NFL start.

In addition to Rice, four other Ravens are listed as doubtful, including starting defensive lineman Chris Canty (groin). The others are: linebacker Arthur Brown (chest), defensive tackle Brandon Williams (toe) and wide receiver Deonte Thompson (foot).

Wide receiver Jacoby Jones (knee) and center Ryan Jensen (foot) were declared out. Reserve cornerback Chykie Brown (knee) is questionable.

For the Texans, former Ravens safety Ed Reed (hip) is questionable after being limited in practice all week. Wide receiver Andre Johnson, who missed a practice this week with a concussion, is probable.
