Poll: Browns' approach to free agency

The most frequently asked question I've received from Cleveland Browns fans this week is: Why isn't my team making a splash in free agency?

The Browns began the offseason with plenty of cap room but didn't spend money on players who can make a significant impact in 2011. Cleveland's response is the team is building through the draft instead.

In our latest SportsNation poll, we ask Browns fans if they are happy with this approach.

The Browns do not have as much talent as their division rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. Should Cleveland have spent money on impact players who can help the team compete in the division and close the gap with its rivals?

Or should the Browns continue to gradually build through the draft? President Mike Holmgren and general manager Tom Heckert have been successful in this area since joining the team. But Cleveland is still at least two years away from competing with this approach, and Browns fans have been waiting a long time for a winner.
