Tennessee Titans cut 13 players, including safety Josh Aubrey

Most significant move: The Titans' roster is not deep, and none of the moves that got them down to 75 were particularly noteworthy. Fernando Velasco, the veteran center who came back in the summer for a second stint with the franchise, was let go. But he was brought back only because injuries thinned the team at the position during OTAs.

Sacrificing quality: Safety Josh Aubrey only joined the Titans on Aug. 6. Titans defensive coordinator Ray Horton and defensive backs coach Louie Cioffe knew Aubrey from 2013 when they were in Cleveland together. During his time in Tennessee, Aubrey showed himself to be a solid special-teamer. There are years when he would have made this team, but with Michael Griffin, Da’Norris Searcy, Daimion Stafford and Marqueston Huff, I think they feel good about their two starters and two youngsters developing behind them. Aubrey can play in the NFL and I’ll be surprised if his preseason with the Titans doesn’t get him a spot somewhere.

Titans' moves: Cut LB Nate Askew, CB Will Brown, LB Dezmond Johnson, WR Tebucky Jones, WR Deon Long, DE Derrick Lott, G Justin McCray, K Mike Meyer, LB Chaz Sutton, C Fernando Velasco, DT Toby Johnson, S Josh Aubrey, TE Tevin Westbrook. Placed WR Andrew Turzilli and LB Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil on injured reserve.
