HOUSTON -- Andre Johnson’s ankle shouldn’t be any more of an issue this week as the Texans prepare for a trip to Oakland than it was last week as they readied for Dallas.
He was injured on a third-quarter ankle tackle by defensive back Orlando Scandrick during Houston's 27-13 loss to Dallas. Trainers attended to him and re-taped his ankle and he did return for a time, but could not catch up to a deep ball from Matt Schaub that Mike Jenkins easily intercepted.
Gary Kubiak said the team’s medical staff “doesn’t think it’s any worse than it was” a week ago when Johnson first hurt it against the Redskins.
Johnson had an MRI early last week. It’s not clear if he’ll have another. But the Texans will move forward expecting him to play and play well against the Raiders.
It’s a big matchup game as Nnamdi Asomugha is one of the few corners in the league that’s had consistent success against Johnson.
