Sure, the quarterback situation is in flux and the Jaguars are trying to recover from a beat down.

But in-house, the Jaguars have discussed the fact that they endured a three-game stretch without David Garrard in 2007 when he was out with an injured ankle.

“We were in a similar situation in ’07 when Dave was out for three or four games with an ankle,” offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter told the Jacksonville media. “We went down to Tampa with Quinn Gray and we found a way to get a win. It wasn’t pretty but we found a way to get a win. In fact I think we won two out of three with Quinn. I can’t remember who the third one was. We lost to New Orleans, we beat Atlanta and I can’t remember who the third one was…

“We won two out of three in a similar situation and we’ve got to find a way. The other guys have to rally. The coaches, it’s our job to get a game plan that whoever is the quarterback can handle, that attacks the Chiefs, plays to our strengths, and the players all got to pick up a little slack. I thought Coach (Jack Del Rio) did a great job talking to them. I think the players understand that and whoever is out there then we have to roll with that.”

During those three games minus Garrard in 2007, they won 24-23 at Tampa, lost 41-24 at New Orleans and won 28-13 at Tennessee.

Garrard will miss Sunday's game in Kansas City with a concussion. Trent Edwards will play if a thumb injury allows it. Todd Bouman will be in the lineup if Edwards can't go.
