Colts tight end Jacob Tamme had another solid outing as the Colts continue to get production out of the tight end position without Dallas Clark.

In Sunday’s 23-17 home win over Cincinnati, Tamme was targeted by Peyton Manning 10 times and caught seven passes for 73 yards -- all team highs.

More significant, Manning leaned on Tamme heavily in the first half as the Colts built a 20-10 lead. Nine of the 10 passes and six of the seven catches came before intermission.

Tamme is certainly not Clark. But as he took over for the Pro Bowler when Clark went on injured reserve with a wrist injury, we knew Tamme had good speed and nice hands. He has made the most of both as he already has turned into a reliable target for Manning.

On a day when the Colts got eight catches and 71 yards combined from Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon and had a five-turnover performance from the defense carry the day, Tamme supplied a quality spark.
