The Colts expect Peyton Manning to practice Tuesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.
He'll be removed from the PUP list, according to Tony Dungy, and the team will slowly see what he can handle.
"I think we'll ease him in and see how he practices and what he's able to do and we'll see from there,'' Dungy said.
The Colts said when an infected bursa sac was removed from Manning's left knee on July 14 that his recovery would take four to six weeks. Today is six weeks and the Colts did not practice following Sunday night's loss to Buffalo in the team's fourth preseason game.
Indianapolis plays again at Lucas Oil Stadium on Thursday. No matter Manning's progress, it's almost a certainty he won't see any action in that game.
In his media session Dungy could not provide updates on center Jeff Saturday, return man T.J. Rushing or quarterback Jim Sorgi. Saturday and Rushing suffered knee injuries against Buffalo while Sorgi was a scratch after knee soreness bothered him during warm-ups.
