Benson penalty could benefit Jags, Colts

The Bengals are a lot better with Cedric Benson than without him.

The runing back has an appeal hearing scheduled for next week. If it fails, he’ll sit out the following three games for a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Two AFC South teams will be big beneficiaries if it plays out that way.

The three games he’d miss would be Buffalo, at Jacksonville and Indianapolis.

If the Jaguars and Colts get to see some sort of combination of Bernard Scott, Brian Leonard and/or Cedric Peerman instead, that’s a nice deal for the Jacksonville and Indianapolis defenses.
