The Texans will start Nick Ferguson at free safety and Dominique Barber at strong safety Sunday in their season opener against the Jets.

Eugene Wilson, the starter at free safety, is out with a knee injury suffered as a result of a crackback block thrown by Minnesota quarterback Brett Favre in an Aug. 31 preseason game. Favre was fined $10,000 for the block.

Defensive tackle DelJuan Robinson (calf) and receiver Kevin Walter (hamstring) are listed as questionable. Robinson practiced all week; Walter did not and is a game-time decision.

Andre Davis would get the call to start opposite Andre Johnson if Walter is out.

Quarterback Matt Schaub (ankle) practiced all week and is probable and not in question.

The Jets have five players listed as probable, with defensive end Mike Devito rated as questionable.
