The Titans were worried enough about Vince Young's state of mind last night that they informed police they couldn't find him and enlisted their help.

After about four hours, Young surfaced and met with Titans coach Jeff Fisher at the team's facility. After he spoke with Fisher and police the worries were determined to be unfounded, a police spokesman told me.

ABC affiliate WKRN in Nashville first reported the story.

[UPDATE: 11:25 a.m.] The Titans just issued this statement:

Last night, we received a call from people that are closest to Vince informing us that he had left his house in a state of mind that had them concerned; and that he was unreachable, having left his cell phone at the house. Not having all the facts available to us and approaching the matter prudently, we contacted Metro Police to make them aware of the situation and asked for their assistance in locating Vince. He was located at a friend's house, where we made contact with him. He then came to the practice facility where it was determined that those initial concerns by his friends and family were unfounded and he returned home without incident.

[UPDATE: 11:53 a.m.]

In other quarterback developments, the Titans will host Joey Harrington and Quinn Gray today, Jim Wyatt reports.

Kerry Collins will play while Young is out. The Titans could sign Ingle Martin from the practice squad or add an outsider like Harrington or Gray to back up Collins.

[UPDATE: 1:27 p.m.]

John Clayton is reporting in addition to Harrington and Gray, the Titans will look at Rob Johnson
