Houston Texans
Rookies and younger players will get most of the field time as the Texans open a three-day minicamp Tuesday. This will prove to be especially important for the team's young receivers.
Indianapolis Colts
General manager Ryan Grigson hasn't been able to rebuild his roster using traditional methods. "I feel like digging is one of my strong suits, digging and not caring what anybody else thinks or what the perception is," said Grigson.
The team is hoping to capitalize on an open house at Lucas Oil Stadium during this week's minicamp to sell season tickets.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Sentinel: "Was Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Gene Smith joking when he was talking about Maurice Jones-Drew's contract on Monday? He must have been. I mean, come on, no NFL GM could possibly be as hypocritical as Smith when he was asked about Jones-Drew, the NFL's leading rusher, wanting to renegotiate his contract."
Chet Fussman says there is no pressure for the Jaguars to give in to Jones-Drew.
Tennessee Titans
When announcing his retirement Monday, Derrick Mason made a point to pay homage to Steve McNair. “I can’t leave without thanking Steve,” Mason said. “Him and I, more or less, grew up together in the game of football my first eight years and one here. Because of him, my numbers are what they are. Because he looked for me, he trusted me, he counted on me. I hope I never failed him. He will always be No. 1 with me.”
Coach Mike Munchak will host a bowling event Thursday to support a cause close to him.
