NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Kenny Britt heads to New Jersey this weekend to participate in a football camp and attend a christening.
He also plans a day off on the Fourth of July.
Otherwise he will be at Titans headquarters, continuing to rehabilitate his surgically reconstructed knee.
I asked if he "intended" to be in Nashville and at the Titans' facility.
"I'm not intending to be here," he said, "I'll be here."
Here's a bit of interplay from a conversation with Britt on the final day of Titans minicamp.
How far away do you think you are from 100 percent?
Kenny Britt: I don't know just yet. I started cutting last week and I am feeling pretty good, I'm cutting a little more each day, each week and my knee is feeling better each and every day. It's not swelling up no more and I'm happy about that. Hopefully by July 24 I'll be on the field running with the guys.
Do you have to pace yourself as you get back?
KB: Well, we're going to see day by day. Each day I'm going to test myself and hope to go farther than the day before. That's what I am hoping, that's what I am planning for.
How long will a rehab day be?
KB: Not too long. We're going to actually start doing some drills that are a full-body workout, an hour to an hour and a half to two hours. It's more of strengthening my leg than rehabbing and stuff like that. And going on cuts and doing cone drills.
Do you feel like you're injury-prone or that's a label that's been put out there on you?
KB: No. I've been injured in the past couple years of my life and I still played. I pulled a hamstring and the ACL is something you really don't want to do, but I don't think injury-prone is the word to be put out there.
Unlucky?
KB: Unlucky, probably. God has a path for everybody, and right now I am just walking on his path.
How does how you feel differ from day to day?
KB: It depend how the body feels and my legs feel. There are some days that are rough on my legs, my quads get sore, my hamstrings get sore. It depends on what we do that day. We might have to cut things down, we might have to speed some things up.
