What I think they are thinking at the headquarters of the Tennessee Titans this afternoon ...
The defensive issues are almost too big to get our heads around. And if Colin McCarthy’s ankle is an issue going forward, we’ve got real personnel problems. Our best chance, if we are honest with ourselves about what we’ve got and what Chris Johnson is at this point, is to spread it out and sling it around. We’ll have Kenny Britt back in San Diego. Let’s put Jake Locker in the shotgun, empty out the backfield and let him find Britt, Nate Washington, Kendall Wright, Jared Cook and even Johnson with only rare rushing attempts. In time, things will soften up and we can look to surprise a defense with a Johnson carry here and there. Let’s try some shootouts! Defensively, the pressure is on coordinator Jerry Gray, who talks of getting players in spots to do what they do best, but then doesn't do so. We're praying Philip Rivers doesn't look good against Oakland tonight.
