The Houston Texans have six sacks thorugh three games, and they are getting them without needing a fifth guy in the pass-rushing mix.
With four or fewer rushers Sunday, the Texans held Jacksonville's second-year quarterback Blaine Gabbert to three completions on 10 attempts for 11 yards with all three of the Houston sacks.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, here is how the Texans rushing four or less fared in 2011 and how they are faring in 2012.
The two quarterbacks they’ve faced this year are hardly among the league’s best. Miami’s Ryan Tannehill was making his first NFL start. While Gabbert has improved, he was playing behind a line missing two starters and didn’t have a good day.
J.J. Watt has thee sacks, with Antonio Smith, Brooks Reed and Tim Jamison each chipping in with one. Of the four, three are lineman and Reed is an outside linebacker.
