What I think they’re thinking in the headquarters of the Jacksonville Jaguars this afternoon…
We’ve got to stick together. Two games in, there is a lot of room for fracturing here. So we’re going to find out just how strong the glue Mike Mularkey and his staff used when they put us together through the offseason and camp is. We’re going to find out about our resolve. We bought into Mularkey when he got here. Are we still in? We need to be. There’s not a big alternative. They’d have an easier time getting rid of me, or a lot of us, than getting rid of him. We won’t win that. So we need to get healthy and play better. It starts with tackling and with the receivers and quarterback timing things up far more neatly than we did against the Texans. Look, they are very good and we are not. But neither are the Colts. Let’s go to Indy, play a clean game and show everyone we aren’t a contender in the worst-team-in-the-league conversation. Blaine Gabbert has a glute muscle injury that likely won't stop him from playing. But we gain nothing if he can't play, so our fingers are crossed about his injury.
