What I think they’re thinking (or should be) at the headquarters of the Tennessee Titans this afternoon.
We’re not holding up our end of the bargain, for sure. But are the coaches holding up theirs? Everyone connected to the offensive line and blocking scheme should have to answer on some level for the one play where Minnesota’s fierce defensive end Jared Allen was completely unaccounted for. Know your job and do it, that’s Mike Munchak’s mantra. So who flubbed that and all the other disastrous missed assignments that we saw in Minnesota? We’re too passive and too timid. Are we passive and timid players? Or are we being made especially so by the scheme we run and the plays being called? We don’t have a lot of faith that things are going to get fixed in a hurried practice week and then the whole country will get to see our passivity on national TV Thursday against the Steelers. Then Munchak needs to find a way to re-forge the bond between players and coaches before our Oct. 21 game at Buffalo.
