Houston Texans

Tim Dobbins got a guarantee of about $360,000 and a one-year deal worth roughly $1 million, says Tania Ganguli of the Houston Chronicle.

Guard Brandon Brooks has slimmed down to get ready to compete with Ben Jones for the Texans' right guard spot, says Nick Scurfield of the team’s website.

To which I say: Brooks created a great buzz when he arrived in Houston. A slimmed down second-year version could be a significant piece of the 2013 Texans.

The Texans should allow need to steer them to a first-round wide receiver, says Battle Red Blog.

Indianapolis Colts

Nearly 95 percent of season-ticket holders have renewed, reports Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star. That’s a return to a Peyton Manning-era renewal rate.

To which I say: With what they did last season and the great setting at Lucas Oil Stadium, it’s a very appealing ticket.

Indianapolis is footing the bill for some improvements to Lucas Oil Stadium which has Brad Wells of Stampede Blue frothing.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew will visit London in July to help promote the Jaguars' game there on Oct. 27 against the 49ers, says Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union.

They have the same position coach, but Jaguars linebackers say they are learning about big differences in technique in a new scheme, writes Ryan O’Halloran of the Times-Union.

He’s only got four years of experience, but among Jaguars receivers, Mohamed Massaquoi ranks as a wily veteran, writes O’Halloran.

Tennessee Titans

Kevin Walter says he feels better now than he did five years ago and feels good about his ability to run and block, writes Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean.

To which I say: The more I consider him in Tennessee, the more I think he’s going to be a big help for Jake Locker.

How the Titans could be thinking about each of their division foes, especially as they approach the draft, from Tom Gower of Total Titans.
