Colts reportedly broke rules with Bradshaw

Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw may not be physically ready to to make his training camp debut after all.

But the Colts don't have the option of keeping Bradshaw, who had foot surgery earlier this year, on the physically unable to perform list any longer, according to a report.

ProFootballTalk reported that the team was forced move Bradshaw to the active roster because it committed a league violation by having the running back take handoffs during its morning walk-through practice on Aug. 4. The Colts reportedly said Bradshaw was taking "mental reps" when asked about his status that day.

We'll get a better indication of Bradshaw's health when the Colts return to practice at Anderson (Ind.) University on Tuesday. The players had Monday off after Sunday's preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Monday didn't turn out to be a good off day for the Colts. Owner Jim Irsay blasted the team for its poor performance against the Bills on Twitter. Second-year linebacker Justin Hickman will likely miss the season with a foot injury. And now the Bradshaw situation.
