ANDERSON, Ind. -- The Indianapolis Colts are down to two healthy tight ends.
Tight end Coby Fleener, who had a fumble and dropped a touchdown pass in Sunday's preseason loss to the Buffalo Bills, did not practice Tuesday because of a concussion. The Colts did not say when Fleener suffered the concussion, but it's believed to have happened against the Bills.
Fleener can not return to the practice field until he passes the NFL's concussion protocol.
The protocol "combines a symptom checklist, a limited neurological examination including a cognitive evaluation, and a balance assessment."
Fellow tight end Dwayne Allen is out a couple of weeks with with right foot injury. He hopped around the practice field Tuesday on crutches and a boot on his foot.
With Fleener and Allen out, Justice Cunningham and Dominque Jones are the only two healthy tight ends on the Colts' roster.
