Mathis 77th best defensive player in NFL

August, 21, 2013
Indianapolis Colts defensive lineman Robert Mathis is rated as the 77th best defensive player in the league, according to a poll done by 63 ESPN NFL experts.

Mathis is the first player to crack the top 100 for the Colts. He’s coming off a season where he had a team-high eight sacks. The pressure is on Mathis this season because his fellow pass-rush specialist, Dwight Freeney, is in San Diego, and the Colts are in the process of trying to find someone who can help Mathis out in the pass-rush department.

Do you think Mathis is rated too high or too low?
