Texans general manager Rick Smith's news conference was supposed to take place immediately after Houston made its selection for the first overall pick on Thursday night. Instead, it was two hours later and didn't last long.

He hasn't got much time -- there's still work to do.

I asked Smith if he was planning to trade back into the first round.

"I don't know," Smith said. "That's why I've got to hurry up and get back downstairs."

Smith added that they'd monitor how things went and if there was a player the Texans liked, they could jump back into the first round.

We've known since this afternoon that they had some interest in doing that and now Smith confirmed it. Interesting to note: we're through 20 picks and Blake Bortles remains the only quarterback taken.
