A closer look at the work done by Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson in Monday night’s loss to the Titans at Reliant Stadium, courtesy of ESPN Stats & Information.
Schaub by down
Schaub was especially effective throwing the ball on third down. All seven of his completions were good for first downs.
Schaub by half
Schaub had a strong first half, throwing for two touchdowns and 140 yards. His accuracy slipped significantly in the second half when he connected on just 53 percent of his passes.
Titans pass defense by pass rushers
The Titans pass defense was most effective when it brought five or more pass rushers. Tennessee recorded two sacks and gave up just 8.3 yards per attempt on 11 added pressure plays. It shows they were effective when they did blitz, but is not to say a team that doesn’t blitz a lot should have blitzed more or would have had the same rate of success if it did.
Andre Johnson and Matt Schaub struggled to get on the same page Monday night against the Titans. Johnson was targeted 11 times but had just four catches to go with two dropped passes.
