Good three weeks coming for Jags, run defense numbers suggest
The Jaguars shoot for an uncomplicated identity: Their two stars are in the backfield, not on the flanks. They want to maximize touches for Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.
The Jaguars have lost to Tennessee, Buffalo and Pittsburgh, three teams that collectively allow an average of 88.8 rushing yards.
The Jaguars have beaten Indianapolis, Houston and Denver, three teams that collectively allow an average of 143.4 rushing yards.
The Jaguars next play Cleveland, Cincinnati and Detroit, three teams that collectively allow an average of 155.4 rushing yards.
It's hard to win three in a row, especially when two (Bengals and Lions) are on the road.
Still, based on those numbers, it's hard not to like Jacksonville's chances of getting to its Nov. 16 rematch with Tennessee at 6-3.
