Wrap-up: Titans 47, Rams 7

Less than two months ago, it looked like the Titans and Rams were destined to wind up drafting in the same ballpark, high in the first round.

Sunday showed how different things can be in a matter of weeks in the NFL, as the Titans dismantled St. Louis, 47-7.

It left the Rams 1-12 and boosted Tennessee to 6-7.

The Titans picked off Keith Null five times in his first start as an NFL quarterback -- two by Keith Bulluck, two by Cortland Finnegan and one by Vincent Fuller that he returned for a 45-yard touchdown.

They got 117 rushing yards and 69 receiving yards from the electric Chris Johnson, who scored three touchdowns while Vince Young and Kerry Collins combined for a 123.4 passer rating and two TD tosses.

The only down side was that Young suffered a right hamstring injury at the end of a 44-yard run and had to yield to Collins.

It’s the worst possible development for the young quarterback, who could use the three remaining games of the season as he builds his resume for next year. Young has built significant momentum since taking over for Collins after the Titans started 0-6.

Young was 6 for 8 passing for 132 yards, including a short pass that Johnson turned into 66-yard score. Young finished with a 156.2 passer rating.
