Thornton, Kearse to miss first two days of Titans camp
Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky
Two key Titans defenders will be excused from the first couple days of training camp, coach Jeff Fisher said today.
Outside linebacker David Thornton received permission well in advance to miss the days as he will be the best man in his brother's wedding.
Defensive end Jevon Kearse will be in Florida with former teammate and close friend Samari Rolle, the Baltimore cornerback, for the funeral of Rolle's father.
Both are expected back Sunday.
Fisher said he is hopeful that defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will reach an agreement and sign his franchise tender and that the team's first-round pick, running back Chris Johnson, will be signed by Friday afternoon. However, the contract may not be finalized in time for Johnson to be on the field for Friday afternoon's opening practice.
