Antoine Bethea has become the glue of the Indianapolis Colts secondary. A sixth-rounder out of Howard in 2006, he’s now a restricted free agent.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Colts are tendering Bethea at a first-round level, which comes with a $2.621 million one-year contract. If he signs an offer sheet with another team and the Colts chose not to match, they’d get a first-round pick in April as compensation.

That seems about right.

He’s a very appealing player, but I don’t sense anyone would give up their first-rounder for him.

Here's my post from February detailing restricted free agency.
