While chatting with Steve Slaton in the tunnels of Reliant Stadium in mid-June, I asked him what the toughest run defense he ever faced was.

"I'd say the Steelers, that being my first game in the NFL and that being my first real game working with the O-line. That's probably the toughest defense overall," Slaton said.

"They are one of the best teams to fly to the ball. It seemed like everywhere the ball was, they were. Any little move, any wasted motion, they were all over it. It's frustrating. With all the stats I had in college, making people miss and having big runs, at least one every game, in my first game I expected so much. To not be able to accomplish anything was definitely hard."

Slaton carried 13 times for 43 yards in his professional debut, good for an average of 3.3 yards at Heinz Field. His longest run was 14 yards. He also caught three passes for 6 yards. The Texans got pasted, 38-17, by the team that would go on to win Super Bowl XLIII.

The Texans don't have Pittsburgh on their schedule this season.
