QBR vs. passer rating for Curtis Painter
By Paul Kuharsky
The biggest illustration of the difference between QBR and traditional passer rating this week was provided by Curtis Painter, who played for the Colts after Kerry Collins suffered a concussion.
Painter’s passing numbers looked reasonably good: 5-for-11 for 60 yards. But he lost a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. That factors into his QBR, the metric that is more inclusive than passer rating when trying to pin a number on a quarterback performance.
Passer rating maxes out at 158.3; QBR goes to 100.
Here's a look at the Week 3 starters. And here's the whole season.
