Texans snag a second undervalued pick
By Paul Kuharsky
The Texans have snatched up a couple guys who they consider big values because of circumstances that dropped their value around the league.
Third round receiver DeVier Posey didn’t play much last year as he served suspensions at Ohio State, and the Texans think he would have been a much higher pick had he played a full season.
The same goes, certainly, for Nebraska defensive lineman Jared Crick. He missed much of his final season with a torn pectoral muscle.
Houston just got him with the 126th pick in the fourth round.
John McClain of the Houston Chronicle tweets Crick will be an early down defensive end in the Texans’ 3-4, who will move inside in nickel situations.
He’s got a motor similar to that of J.J. Watt, last year’s top pick, and should provide nice depth for a defense that continues to build in ways that assure an injury can’t undo a season.
