Fisher remains wildly unpopular in Jacksonville

Jeff Fisher used to take regular shots at Jacksonville. At Super Bowl XXXIV he mentioned Alltel Stadium (as Jacksonville Municipal Stadium was then called) as his team’s third home field. After punter Chris Hanson got hurt chopping a symbolic wood block Jack Del Rio put in the locker room, Fisher made a crack about chopping wood.
Things have settled down since. But North Florida hasn’t forgotten. And those three losses to Tennessee in 1999, Jacksonville's best year, can still sting.
Jacksonville radio host Pete Prisco had Fisher on as a guest this week and put up a poll aimed at getting a sense of the area’s feelings for Fisher. The question: Who’s the Jaguars most hated opponent? The options: Bill Polian, Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning and Fisher.
And as of the time I’m writing this entry, Fisher has 93.33 percent of the votes.
You’ll find the interview and the poll here.
