What I think the Texans are thinking
By Paul Kuharsky
What I think they’re thinking (or should be) at the headquarters of the Houston Texans today…
You can find cause for concern in a slow start and a less-than-dominant performance. But there was never a doubt we were beating the Bills. Our stars on offense and our red-zone defense did more than enough to ensure we’d move to 7-1. Our special teams, a weak spot, even played better. In reality, it was the perfect way to win. Because coaches can come to us now and say: “That was good enough to beat the Bills, but it won’t be good enough at Soldier Field and here’s what we need to do to win against the Bears in Chicago.” We’ve been in a couple other giant matchups this season, and the blowout loss to Green Bay and the blowout win over Baltimore weren’t super compelling. This could be a pretty big defensive struggle, so we’ll key on fundamentals. We can’t let a team that lives on turnovers take the ball away, and we need to make sure Arian Foster gets his carries.
