What I think the Texans are thinking
By Paul Kuharsky
What I think they’re thinking at the headquarters of the Houston Texans this afternoon…
Merrily we roll along. We’ve won six in a row, but the last three have come with incomplete games against bad teams. An incomplete game isn’t likely to get it done for us on Monday night in New England, as the Patriots have won six in a row too. They haven’t beaten murder’s row either, though they crushed Indianapolis, a team we still play twice. We need to get it all together at the same time to win this one. If we do, we’ll have beaten two AFC South division winners (the Patriots and Broncos) and the team in line to win the third (the Ravens). We’d be sitting pretty for home-field advantage in the playoffs. It’ll be fun to head into such a big spotlight game, and it’ll be fun to head in as an underdog. We really need to get healthy, especially in the secondary. To have our best chance to slow Tom Brady down, we really need Johnathan Joseph and Brice McCain on the field.
