Lines, Britt have Titans in front at half
By Paul Kuharsky
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Titans are in control against the Colts because they look like the team they thought they could be when they were put together. An attacking defensive front has knocked around Andrew Luck and the offense has gotten big-play production from Kenny Britt.
The Titans are up 20-7 and have controlled the game with good play on both lines, including a patchwork offensive line that is down two starters from last week.
The defensive line has swarmed Luck, the quarterback who’s a top contender for rookie of the year. He’s been sacked three times, twice by tackle Karl Klug, and has been under constant fire. Luck threw a pick-6 to Will Witherspoon on a play where he was being taken down by Derrick Morgan. Replays showed his knee was down as the ball came out of his hand, but replay review didn't overturn the call.
Jake Locker has thrown five balls to Britt, who’s pulled in all five and has 127 yards -- his best mark this season by far. He pulled in one 46-yard reception with his left hand as he was being interfered with by cornerback Vontae Davis.
The Colts get the ball to start the third quarter and can get themselves back in the game with a score.
