What I think the Jaguars should be thinking
By Paul Kuharsky
What I think they should be thinking at the headquarters of the Jacksonville Jaguars today…
I like Gene Smith. Heck, he’s the reason I’m here. But four years in, has he proven capable of building a roster we can win with? I’m not sure who can answer yes. I like Mike Mularkey. He’s got my back. He’s straightforward and in this business, fluff and BS can get in the way of a lot. We don’t have to deal with any of that. But if Smith is replaced, what kind of GM will we have coming in who’s content inheriting, rather than hiring, a coach? It’s all so complicated and it just hangs over us. It makes you hunch over. It’s ever-present. We just want to know what’s going to happen. In the meantime we want to be professionals, we’d like to spring an upset over the Patriots in the home finale and go to Tennessee and complete a sweep of the Titans. We can count on some things going wrong, and we can’t count on reacting to them or rebounding well from them. Because we really haven’t done that all season.
