Officials say Lucas Oil Stadium is now safe

By Mike Wells

INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Colts fans at Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins won’t have to worry about any more loose railings at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Officials at Lucas Oil have replaced the railing that gave out during the Sept. 8 game against Oakland, resulting in injury to two fans. The officials also checked the rest of the stadium to ensure there won’t be a repeat incident.

“We feel confident that we’ve gone through and it is safe,” Lucas Oil Stadium executive director Barney Levengood told The Associated Press. “We have looked at every nut, every bolt, every piece and we feel that along with that and the awareness of our patrons, we will have a safe environment.”

Levengood also said there would be a “contingent” of security personnel and ushers to help make sure fans are safe.
