RTC: Other Texans recall toughest times
By Tania Ganguli
Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
Good idea here by Dave Zangaro of CSNHouston.com. With quarterback Matt Schaub facing a low point in his career, Zangaro asked several Texans to describe the low points of their football careers and how they moved past them. Joe Mays talked about being benched last year. T.J. Yates talked about being booed during his junior year at North Carolina. Duane Brown talked about facing James Harrison his rookie year.
Gary Kubiak admitted Wednesday that the decision to keep Schaub as the team's starter wasn't easy, writes Kristie Rieken of the Associated Press. The bottom of her story cites a scene in which Schaub quickly answered a question about whether his confidence was shaken. In my view, he was much more convincing this week than he has been previously.
The much ballyhooed early team meeting was actually just a scheduling issue. The Texans returned from San Francisco so late that they couldn't have this team meeting Monday, and instead had it Wednesday. Here Deepi Sidhu of HoustonTexans.com writes about said meeting. She also addresses the return of guard Brandon Brooks to practice. Brooks suffered a toe injury against the Seattle Seahawks and missed the Texans' game against San Francisco.
