Power Rankings: No. 32 Jacksonville

By Michael DiRocco

A weekly examination of the Jaguars’ Power Ranking:

Preseason: 29 | Last Week: 32 | Power Ranking since 2002

The Jacksonville Jaguars (0-8) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7) are the only winless teams in the NFL. There’s no question the Jaguars are worse, and it’s not because they have lost an additional game.

Jacksonville has eight consecutive double-digit losses, with the closest being 10 points.

One touchdown in four home games but none at EverBank Field (the Jags were officially the home team Sunday in London for their 42-10 loss to the 49ers).

Jacksonville is last in total offense, scoring offense and rushing defense, and next-to-last in rushing offense.

That’s why the Jaguars remain entrenched as the No. 32 team in the Power Rankings.

The Jaguars have their bye Sunday in Week 9, and after meetings on Tuesday the players will have the rest of the week off. Maybe the time away will help, because things certainly can’t get much worse.
