By Tania Ganguli
Reading the coverage of the Houston Texans...
Bryan Braman, Lestar Jean and Terrell McClain were all set to be restricted free agents. The Texans did not tender them, so they become unrestricted free agents. John McClain of the Houston Chronicle includes that note at the bottom of this story, which wraps up yesterday's Texans' events. It wasn't an especially active first day of free agency in Houston.
Chris Baldwin of Houston Culture Map says cutting Owen Daniels shows Belichickian ruthless efficiency. He thinks releasing Daniels was the right decision despite his popularity.
Former Texans guard Wade Smith appeared on Sports Radio 610 and talked about being open to the possibility of returning to Houston. Smith said being in a place where he could win was his main concern.
James Palmer of CSNHouston.com notes the thoughts of veterans Andre Johnson and Johnathan Joseph on the emotional aspect of free agency. The revolving door of NFL rosters surprised Johnson his rookie year, having spent a college career with continuity.
