JACKSONVILLE -- A lot of our ears in the press box perked up a while ago when a radio guy filing a report by phone during a pause in play talked of someone's hair getting lit on fire.
He got it second hand himself, but I just chatted with the guys from 1010 XL who are in the front row ahead of me and one of them was a witness.
According to Marlon Jones, Jaguars' mascot Jaxson de Ville caught the spray of some pregame pyrotechnics and the top of his head caught fire. Jones said it was more than a minor burn, he saw an actual flame before the mascot headed down the tunnel to put it out.
That bandana he's been wearing is more Band-Aid than do-rag.
The joke, of course, it that it illustrated just how hot the Titans-Jaguars rivalry is.
The Jags are on course to hand the Titans their first loss of the season, with a 14-3 lead. Tennessee has four first downs, seven penalties and hasn't converted any of its six third-down chances.
