Kansas City
The Boston Globe is reporting that Kansas City linebacker Mike Vrabel plans to continue playing. Vrabel, 34, is a free agent. He spent last season with the Chiefs after being traded from New England along with quarterback Matt Cassel.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if Kansas City attempts to keep Vrabel. He provided strong leadership to the young program.
The Kansas City Star looks at players who could make an instant impact for the Chiefs. Kansas City has the No. 5 pick and it has to score big with this pick. It had the No. 5 and No. 3 picks in the past two years and took defensive linemen Glenn Dorsey and Tyson Jackson. The young players have yet to make a strong impact. That has to change this year. If Tennessee safety Eric Berry is on the board at No. 5, he could be the player to stop the recent high-pick, low-impact trend in Kansas City.
San Diego
Take Willis McGahee off the list of possible replacements for LaDainian Tomlinson in San Diego. It looks like McGahee is staying in Baltimore.
Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie is being accused of being late on his child-support payments. This may not make it easier for San Diego, which is dangling Cromartie on the trade market, to deal him.
