Denver

My take: The Dolphins probably can take advantage of anything they want. Denver struggles against the run and the pass -- pick your way to beat this defense, Miami. Denver is allowing opponents to complete nearly 73 percent of their passes. So, yes, you can beat the Broncos through the air. But Denver can also be had on the ground. Have fun, Dolphins.

Kansas City

  • The future is now for Tyler Thigpen.

My take: Exactly. This is Thigpen's chance to impress the organization. If Thigpen is going to be the Chiefs' quarterback next season it will be because of what he does in the next nine weeks. This is his chance to sway the Chiefs from pursuing another option.

Oakland

  • JaMarcus Russell is way better at home than on the road.

My take: Good thing the Raiders host the Falcons on Sunday, isn't it? This isn't unusual for a young quarterback. Young players are often much more relaxed and poised at home than on the road. It's all part of growing up in the NFL.

San Diego

My take: This is very interesting and it was a fun read. Will it pan out? Who knows, but I have a feeling this race will come down to the wire.
