After coming to grips with former defensive tackle star Jamal Williams signing with rival Denver, there is more news about players who could be on the move from San Diego.
The Cardinals are interested in bringing in restricted free agent quarterback Charlie Whitehurst. He has a third-round tender.
Arizona could pursue new free agent Derek Anderson. If that happens, Whitehurst may no longer be an option. The Chargers should hope Arizona pursues Whitehurst. He is the third-string quarterback in San Diego. Getting a third-round pick for him would benefit the Chargers.
Earlier Tuesday, we passed along Minnesota’s interest in former San Diego star running back LaDainian Tomlinson. He is now set for a Thursday visit in Minnesota. I see this being a fit. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tomlinson is wearing purple by the end of the week.
