Kansas City signs DT Shaun Smith

The Chiefs have signed free agent defensive tackle Shaun Smith.

He was with Cincinnati last year. Smith did work out for the Chiefs last year. He will likely vie for a backup role. Smith, 6-2, 325 pounds, is a talented player, who has had some run-ins with former teammates and coaches.

Still, he played in Cleveland for new Kansas City defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel. Clearly, Crennel believes Smith can help the Chiefs.
