The Kansas City Chiefs are clearly interested in Tennessee safety Eric Berry, but it seems like they have competition.

The Washington Post is reporting the Redskins will visit with Berry this week after he leaves Kansas City. His visit with the Chiefs had been set up for some time.

The Redskins have the No. 4 pick in the draft and the Chiefs have the No. 5 pick. With Sam Bradford emerging as the likely No.1 pick by St. Louis, it appeared that Berry would slip to No. 5. However, the Redskins will represent a serious wrinkle in that plan if they truly want Berry.

The Chiefs’ interest in Berry is genuine. In addition to this week’s visit, defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel attended his recent pro day work out.

The Chiefs are expected to choose between Berry and, if available, a top offensive tackle prospect such as Russell Okung in the first round of the April 22-24 draft.
