Kansas City Chiefs schedule analysis
The Chiefs looked as if they could be ready for prime time. They better be, because the Kansas City Chiefs will be in the national spotlight in Week 1.
In a bit of a surprise, the Chiefs will host four-time defending AFC West champion San Diego in the back end of a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader on Sept 13 on ESPN. The Chiefs have added high-profile coordinators Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel and running back Thomas Jones to pair with Charles. They will get a special debut as the country gets a look at refurbished Arrowhead Stadium.
Complaint department: Three times, Kansas City plays back-to-back road games. It does so in Weeks 5-6 (at Indianapolis and Houston), Weeks 9-10 (at Oakland and Denver) and Weeks 14-15 (at San Diego and St. Louis). If the Chiefs, who have won a total of 10 games the past three seasons, are going to improve, they will have to handle these stretches.
Nothing too tough: The Chiefs have a fairly manageable schedule. They play just four games against teams which made the playoffs last season.
