Chargers sign two draft picks

With just five picks from last April's draft, the Chargers don't have as much work as most teams do when it comes to signing rookies before training camp starts.

Still, San Diego got a jump on locking up draft choices today by signing its fifth-round choice, running back Marcus Thomas, and its seventh-round choice, tackle Corey Clark. Both players signed four-year deals.

The Chargers have three more draft picks to sign, including first-round pick Antoine Cason, a cornerback from Arizona and third-round pick Jacob Hester, a tailback/fullback from LSU. Also unsigned is cornerback DeJuan Tribble, a sixth-round pick.

The team has had talks with Cason and it wouldn't be a surprise if he were to come to an agreement in the next couple of weeks. Cason is a leading candidate to be San Diego's nickel cornerback.
