You pick it: AFC West top story

Posted by ESPN.com's Bill Williamson

Here are this week's "you pick it" candidates.

Remember, the ground rules are easy. You decide what is the story of the week in the AFC West and hit my mailbag with your thoughts. I will post some of your responses later in the week.

Cutler beats Favre: Denver followed up an embarrassing home defeat to Oakland with a huge upset in New York over the Jets. Denver quarterback Jay Cutler outplayed Jets' quarterback Brett Favre and the Broncos reached the doorstep of their first AFC West crown in three years.

Norv Turner loses again: The Chargers lost their fifth game in six weeks against visiting Atlanta. The Chargers are 0-2 since ownership gave a vote of confidence to Turner. Chargers fans are up in arms over the idea of Turner staying if the Chargers don't win the AFC West.

The fake field goal: Raiders interim coach Tom Cable could have sealed his own fate by attempting a bumbling fake field goal in which lumbering kicker Sebastian Janikowski was going to be the ball carrier. The Chiefs scored on the play and ended up winning by a touchdown.
